I haven’t seen all of these films but have seen some of them and like them as well.
Hackers reminds me of another film with Matthew Broderick, who plays a hacker who hacks into the National Defense computer and almost starts off world war 3. I can’t remember the title. Maybe War Games?
I would also recommend foreign films which I like to watch to get another perspective in life, how the other side lives.
Osama–not about Bin Laden. Its about a young girl who disguises herself as a boy so her mother can go out of the house. I forget which middle eastern country its in.
When Turtles Fly–the first movie made in Iraq after the fall of Saddam. It involves a group of orphaned children who band together to survive. There is no social services in some countries.
Time for Drunken Horses–another middle eastern film, forget which country. The men take tires over the mountains to (Iraq?) to sell them. Because it is so cold, they give liquor to the horses to keep them warm. A young 16 year old boy becomes the head of the family when his father dies.
The Way Home–filmed in Korea. Bratty boy spends the summer with his mute grandmother who does nothing but show him love in her own way. Wait till you see what happens when the battery dies.
The Road Home–filmed in China. An old man dies in a hospital and the mother wants her son to organize people to carry his casket home. He was a teacher and grateful students come to help.
